Causes of hypernatraemia

1.      Excessive loss of body water

a.      Diabetes insipidus

b.      Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus

c.       Osmotic diuresis

d.      Excessive loss of water through the skin or lungs

Excessive infusion of 0.9% NaCl solution.
