Immunoglobulins:
These are group of proteins produced by plasma cells and B-lymphocytes that bind to antigen.
IgG:
IgM:These are group of proteins produced by plasma cells and B-lymphocytes that bind to antigen.
IgG:
- Most common
- Subdivided in four subclasses IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4.
- Produced 2nd to IgM and sustain
- Heavy chain gamma
- Present in serum and extracellular fluid
- Cross placenta
- Can be broken into a constant Fc fragment and two highly variable Fab fragments.
- Produced first in response to antigen
- Heavy Chain is meu
- Consists of 5 subunit
- Does not cross placenta
- Present in serum only
- Complement fixation usual and very different
- Main Immunoglobulins in secretions
- Does not cross placenta.
- Heavy chain alpha
- Compliment fixation in alternative pathway
- Involved in delayed hypersensitivity reaction
